Nice, early figural cast iron clock w/ embossed advertising for August Bauer & Co.'s "Cherry Drips" liquor, featuring great image of monkey hugging parrot. Has a nice, untouched patina to its attractive, all original paint surface (C. 8+/-). Took a standard 2.25" (dia.) insert clock (these early replacement insert clocks are fairly common and can usually be easily located). *Updated Description: The A. Bauer Co. was a pre prohibition era Chicago based liquor distillery operator w/ an interesting, very checkered history including the counterfeiting of established brand name liquors, etc.
