Important, vintage ca. 1870's/80's paper on cardboard sign for S. W. Venable Tobacco Co. (Petersburg, VA) featuring beautifully detailed multicolor stone litho printing by Hatch Lithographing Co. (New York). Has a clean, bright and very attractive overall appearance (basically a strong C. 8 appearance) w/ a little minor, very well done professional touchup in background and outer margin / border area, as found still in its original frame (note: Venable was established in 1853 and Hatch Litho operated from marked address label location from 1871-1886).
